Physician Assistant Blogs from Remote Alaskan Island

Published April 10, 2009 12:21 PM by Stephen Cornell

Physician assistant Darryl Peterson is blogging from the Alaskan island of Akutan on his blog, "Notes from Akutan."

From yesterday's post:

It's been pretty slow in the clinic. Ive averaged 1 pt a day for the week so far. I re-sterilized all the instruments in the clinic, got supplies ordered and other logistical stuff taken care of for the month.

Weather had been spring-like until yesterday evening when we got a blast of blowing wet snow. We've had a dozen or so planes in the past couple days - lots of Trident workers getting shipped home now that the "A" season is drawing to an end. I have several folks trying to get to Anchorage this weekend for appointments next week, so I hope the weather allows their flights.

Hopefully, Peterson's blog will help fill the void created by the blogging retirement of The Tundra PA.
