PA Scholarship Update

Published June 15, 2009 10:41 AM by Terri Schaefer

Mary Kay Bonds, the mother of PA Julie Sutton-Osgood, who was killed by a drunk driver in July 2005, recently contacted ADVANCE with some updates about the scholarship in her daughter’s name, as well as upcoming events.

To date, Bonds says 12 scholarships have been awarded to students in the medical field. And last year, a scholarship was given to a student in PA school at Southern Illinois University.

This year’s fourth annual “An Evening for Julie” event is on July 18 at Ridge Country Club in Chicago. The morning also starts with a motorcycle run. More info is available at www.juliesmemory.com.

Also, Bonds shared that there was a sign recently erected on Interstate 57 near Halsted Street in Chicago that reads “Please Don’t Drink & Drive: In Memory of Julie Sutton-Osgood.”
