AAPA Advertisement Addresses Congress

Published July 21, 2009 10:51 AM by Heather Simons

On Friday, July 17 and Monday, July 20, the AAPA placed this ad in two Capitol Hill publications. The ad urges members of Congress to "make it as easy to care for someone dying as it is to care for someone living."

 From the AAPA e-newsletter:

CQ Today (Congressional Quarterly) is a daily publication routinely read by legislators and their staff on Capitol Hill. The ad will also run on Monday in Roll Call, the paper with the largest circulation on the Hill. The placement of the ad on these days is to support AAPA's advocacy efforts on health care reform, particularly AAPA's efforts to allow PAs to order home health, hospice, and skilled nursing facility care, as well as to provide hospice care for Medicare beneficiaries. Three House Committees--Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, and Education and Labor--will attempt to mark-up health care reform legislation this week and next.
