A Presidential Interview
LAS VEGAS--This morning I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Scott Ward, president of the American Physical Therapy Association, in his suite at the Combined Sections Meeting. Dr. Ward has accommodated us for numerous interviews in the past, and today we discussed his ideas and experiences as it pertains to the future of physical therapy.
Everyone has covered our current economic struggles ad nauseam at this point, but Dr. Ward offered optimism for growth and prosperity for APTA and the PT profession at-large for 2009. It was refreshing to hear his take on many issues in physical therapy, not the least of which is tonight's scheduling unveiling of APTA's new brand for the profession.
Those who have expressed concern with how the current climate will affect their professional futures should feel reassured by the fact that APTA has a passionate, energetic and determined leader to guide the Association through this period.
Dr. Ward's entire interview will be available on our Website in the coming weeks.
