5th Annual PT Practitioner of the Year Award!
For the past few years,
ADVANCE has honored the best and the brightest in the physical therapy profession every October with our PT Practitioner of the Year contest. Since 2005,
ADVANCE has gathered entries and nominations from across the country to award honors to the three physical therapists deemed tops in their field by our panel of judges. Past winners include:
- 2008- Gary Welch, PT, DPT, CFMT, COMT, CFCE, Patchogue, NY
- 2007- Maria Meigel, PT, DPT, CFMT, OCS, CSCS, Hampton Bays, NY
- 2006- Ellen Schweigert, PT, Silver City, NM
- 2005- Bruce Nicholas Elliott, BA, BS, PT, ASPTA, Putnam, CT
Today, we are proud to announce the start of our 5th annual ADVANCE for Physical Therapists and PTAs PT Practitioner of the Year Contest. Between now and August 10, readers can submit nominations of their own, or use our form at http://physical-therapy.advanceweb.com/General/Survey/SurveyForm.aspx?sid=01482. The winner will be recognized with a cover story during October-National PT Month. We also plan to award cash prizes of $2500 for our winner, $1000 for second place, and $500 for third place. Plaques and certificates will also be awarded in commemoration of the accomplishment.
But that's not all. For the first time this year, we are proud to announce that we will be accepting nominations for the newly-founded ADVANCE for Physical Therapists and PTAs Hall of Fame! Each year, we will choose one nominee whose career accomplishment make them worthy of being chosen as that year's "Hall of Famer." The individual chosen will receive their own cover story during National PT Month, a commemorative plaque, and a $1000 cash prize.
In order to be eligible for the ADVANCE Hall of Fame, an individual must have at least 20 years of service in the physical therapy profession under his or her belt. Nominations can be submitted by anyone-a co-worker, a friend, a loved one-you can even nominate yourself if so inclined!
