Journey of a DPT Student

One Semester Down

Published August 15, 2011 3:43 PM by Lauren Rosso

With finals ending last Friday, I have finally had time to relax and reflect on the past three months. It's remarkable to think about how much I have learned since the start of this semester. I know I haven't even scratched the surface, which is why I am really looking forward to the next series of courses. For the first time in my life, I am interested in and excited about what I am learning. It really does make a difference to be motivated to study (Imagine that!). I wish I had figured this out a long, long time ago.

While anatomy and kinesiology are obviously essential, I am more excited for our fall courses. We'll have cardiopulmonary, patient management and the first musculoskeletal course, in addition to clinical twice per week. I expect that I will really start to feel like I'm in PT school then. I have had such a great experience so far, so I hope it continues throughout the next three years.

For now, I'm going to relax and enjoy these two weeks off. It was kind of depressing to be stuck inside all summer, so I'm excited to take advantage of what little sunshine is left.
