&lt;p&gt;Ruth, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only transplant who is being educated.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Darlyn, I hope your friend was able to express his/her hurt and educate the offender.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Just this year I saw a show that made me shudder at how blacks, and the whites who befriended them, were treated the same year I was born. &amp;nbsp;Beaten, bloodied, and some to their graves...less than 50 years ago. &amp;nbsp;That brought some perspective to how division can still run so deep. &amp;nbsp;And to how limited my scope was. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It goes back to perspective...when you believe another person's reaction to a situation is not appropriate, it is wise to respond with curiosity. &amp;nbsp;You may not have the same understanding of the situation. &amp;nbsp;If you were able to experience that same circumstance from the other person's perspective, you might react even stronger.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Still waters run deep...but look safe from the surface.&lt;/p&gt;
