My New Beginning
I am thankful my wife and daughter finally got home on Christmas day after being "stranded" in Baltimore due to the snow. I want to thank NIH and The Children's Inn for their service, support, and hospitality while they were both there.
I also am thankful for the health care system and providers who worked during the holiday season to incorporate needed services to those who were not able to care for themselves.
My new beginning starts with myself. I had thought I fulfilled my pledge on all of my last year resolutions and goals that I wanted to attain. But, I find that there are always ways to improve both personally and professionally.
One major item I still have trouble with is to eliminate the stressors in my life. I think stress seems to follow me around wherever I go. Fortunately the stress I have is short lived and all ends up well at the end.
Some items I have thought about for next year include:
- Spend more time with my family
- Be a better patient advocate
- Ask more questions
- Listen more intently
- Research subjects I do not like and do not know enough about.
