One Year Down…
I have officially just completed my first full year of PT school! I have learned so much over the past year, and I am excited for the semester to come. I am even more excited that I finally get to start putting some of my new skills to use as I was just recently hired to work as a rehabilitation aide at one of the hospitals near my school! I am very excited about this new addition to my journey.
Though I currently do not know exactly where I will be placed-IP, OP, sub-acute or mixed-I can't wait to start. I am secretly hoping that I can get exposure in an IP/sub-acute mix, since that is the type of setting that I will be doing my first internship in starting in November.
I have previously been exposed to the OP setting, so I feel pretty comfortable going into my internship next summer. However, I have had very little exposure to IP and sub-acute settings, so my mind has been racing trying to figure out how my internship will be, especially since it'll be my first one.
I feel like I have been well prepared for both my upcoming job and internship, but I am still extremely nervous about both of them. I know that they will both be fine...they have no choice but to be, right? Wish me luck on my first day today!
