A Day in the Life of a PT Student

A Balancing Act

Published November 4, 2008 11:53 AM by Veronica Haywood
11 MORE DAYS!!! I am so excited to almost be done with my semester. This may have been my most challenging semester yet. During this time, while taking orthopedics 1, kinesiology 2, evidence-based practice 2, patient management 3 and physiology of activity--a heavy enough load as far as I'm concerned--I have also worked to maintain three jobs and blogging for this wonderful magazine.

Needless to say meditation has been a large part of my life this semester.  But not even that can combat with sleep deprivation. I'm not quite sure how I lasted this long without getting sick but the ship is starting to sink this week. I hope that this is just a minor fluke since I have finals and my internship coming up!

On a happier note, today is Election Day. I never quite grasped the importance of elections until this year. Whoever becomes the next president will not only determine my future health care coverage, but also (potentially) my employment-solely based on their health care policies. Whoever wins this election I, at the least, hope they are successful in fixing the current state of the health care system.

Don't forget to vote!
