My Favorite Time of Year
As those who know me would agree--this is my favorite time of year. I have two weeks to soak up new books, fresh paper, organizing new class schedules and enjoying every minute of the beginning of the school year. I love getting new syllabi (syllabuses?) and figuring out when my tests will be; which weeks are harder than others. I like getting started on new material, learning new concepts and applying them to things I already know. I love making study guides, and I love reviewing for exams with my friends. (The exams, however, aren't always my favorite.)
I am (nearly) 24 years old and I've been in school for as long as I can remember. I wonder if it will be hard to adjust to work life. What happens when I don't have classes? The cool think about PT is that every patient is like a new school year beginning. You have a new friend to meet, new pathologies to learn about, new things to work toward, new goals to make.
I hope all these things I babble about don't seem too redundant--but I think it's a big step to transition from school to work, and who can really know what to expect? All I can do is look forward, and take it one step at a time. But for now, I'm relishing my last semester of classes.
