Career Fair!!
Our career fair is this week. We have a "career fair committee" who has dedicated endless hours contacting PT and other health care facilities. I believe we have somewhere near 90 clinics coming to give information about themselves, their companies and benefits for working with them. I can't believe how much work went into putting this whole thing together, and I'm very grateful to my classmates for all their hard work.
I've edited my resume a thousand times, and I wish I was exaggerating. I've thought about every word, every indent and tab, the overall "flow" and making sure I represent myself well. Size 10 font is small, but I need to fit everything onto one page! I left the first part pretty vague: "Seeking a position as a full-time physical therapist." Since I'm not really certain what setting I want to work in, I thought I would leave every option available. And, I'll probably give my resume to everyone at the career fair, since I'm not sure what city I will end up in.
I'm excited to talk with these representatives and practice my beginner interview skills. I've read some articles online about how to respond to questions like, "What are your weaknesses?" I don't know what I would say! I guess inexperience, like every new grad.
I've thought about what to wear. The obvious popular option is to wear a business suit, but I'm not really in a suit kind of mood. So, I have a nice grey dress with a lovely cardigan, and probably some easy flats to polish it off. (My JCrew coworkers would be proud.)
I think I have everything covered! It will surely be an interesting experience. I'll be sure to follow-up with my next blog.
