Life with a New PT Grad

Halftime

Published February 3, 2009 11:44 AM by Lisa Catenacci
Well, I'm halfway done with my third clinical. This week we finished the CPI assessment and had a long discussion about my strengths and weaknesses thus far, and goals for the rest of the semester. The online CPI is actually really nice to use--much easier to write comments and evaluate myself than paging through a booklet of visual analog scales and handwriting paragraphs upon paragraphs of feedback.

I'm actually doing better than I thought I would be. I'm at 75 percent of a full-time PT's caseload (I would be doing better if it wasn't for that tricky documentation). As can be expected, I have things to work on, but I'm also doing very well in other areas.

I love getting feedback. I love learning how I can improve my skills as a PT, and I like reinforcing things that I'm doing well.

Four more weeks to go, then I'm off to Phoenix for my final clinical, EVER.
