Acceptance!
I posted a while back about a study I did that I submitted to the British Geriatric Society, which was turned down. I rewrote bits of it and submitted it for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Conference. I got the acceptance letter today! I'm feeling rather proud of myself right now. It will be my first professional presentation of a study that I've done.
It is also the basis of evidence for the work my team and I have been doing. I posted last week about how the Royal College of Physicians claimed only certain protocols were evidence-based practice. My study now provides some evidence that other protocols can work too. It is up to all of us, DPT or BSPT like myself, to continue to evaluate our work, look at the outcomes and write them up. If we don't, then other groups, like the RCP, will wind up dictating practice to us.
The conference is in October in Liverpool. I'll let you all know how things progress.
