What's This Guy Doing Back?
You may be thinking that exact thing. Didn't I move back to New York? How on earth can a "New York PT in Queen Elizabeth's Court" go on if he's no longer actually in her court? You're right, that journey is over for now. However, that means a new journey is starting.
I've chatted with my editor and we think there may be some interest in this transition from the UK back to the US as well as from clinical PT work to something more overarching. I was thinking of calling this next journey, "PT and the Greater Good." I want to focus on the knowledge I've achieved with my MPH degree and from working in the NHS, seeing how that plays out in our health system. It will, naturally, be through the eyes of a physical therapist and have that point of view.
What do you think? Is this something you'd like to read about? Something you could respond to and provide some input on?
I've been back for four days and it's amazing how "foreign" many things feel. I can't get over how big the roads are. I say funny things to shop staff, like "ta" for thank you, and "Alright?" for hello. I must say though, the warmth of New York in late September is a fair bit more pleasant than the cold, gray drizzle of Newcastle.
I start my new position tomorrow. Shall I tell you all about it?
Cheers! (That's staying).
