Be a Hit with Discount Lab Coats!

Published 03 March 10 05:31 PM
Now through Sunday, March 7, some lab coats are up to 40 percent off.

I've been taking in a lot of What Not to Wear lately, thanks to my basic cable package, which offers me only a very limited number of actual cable channels - TLC being one of those. What have I learned? Well, if anyone approaches you and asks you to describe your "personal style" on camera for "market research," yeah, you're probably going to be on What Not to Wear. If your friends start randomly taping you, and they're sure to get your entire outfit in the shot, you're probably going to be on What Not to Wear. If you have a big event like an anniversary coming up, have just gone through a hard time and got stuck in a style rut or have an interesting job where you can be ambushed by hosts Clinton and Stacy, well, you get where I'm going with this.

Besides carefully watching my friends and avoiding video cameras to ensure that I'm not on What Not to Wear, I've also learned a bit about style. The spot where a shirt or coat hem hits is as important to Clinton and Stacy as finding those perfect jeans for your shape. If something - say, just for fun, a lab coat - is the wrong length for your body type, it can do all sorts of bad things for your figure.

While I am no Stacy or Clinton (and have a slight fear I may someday end up on What Not to Wear), I can provide you with three great options in lab coats, ensuring that you'll find one that flatters your figure and functions well to boot. Many of our lab coats are 20 percent off now through March 7, although the discount lab coats don't include Grey's Anatomy, Koi, Medline or our clearance lab coats. I picked out three of my favorites - two discount lab coats are on sale and one is a steal even without the markdown - in three different lengths to help you find the right lab coat that fits your individual style.

Go Shorty!

If you're into white short lab coats, and they flatter your figure, consider this discount lab coat from Los Angeles Rose. This lab coat is slim-fitting, with a cinched-in waist, blazer styling and a single button. It's great for flattering a variety of figures because it features darts in the front to help maximize positive features and minimize the negatives.

This Los Angeles Rose discount lab coat also comes in black, and the style had customers raving. Susan wrote, "Exactly what I needed ... and previously had to drive around town to find. Slightly fitted. True to size XL=16. Fine quality. Will order again."

Pamela from New Hampshire noted the figure-flattering qualities of this discount lab coat in her customer review: "Love this lab coat! It fit well and is flattering to my figure (I am plus-sized on top). It is made of a sturdy material and the pockets are roomy."

If this is exactly your style, you can find it for $21.59 up until the sale ends March 7.

Stuck in the Middle

For a mid-length lab coat, I chose from our selection of 34-inch lab coats. I picked the Peaches mid-length lab coat, which has plenty of pocket room (complete with pen dividers and button closures) and a back band that allows you to move around comfortably. In the traditional bright white, this coat can be embroidered to make it uniquely yours.

Reviewer Laura did just that. She raved about the coat, saying "Great coat for the price! It's basic but fits great as indicated and embroidery was well done. Shipped quickly as well! Thanks!"

This discount lab coat is on sale at 20 percent off and can be yours for $18.39.

It's a Long Shot

I must admit that as far as style goes, I like the long lab coats best, although that's unfortunate because I'm a hair over five-foot tall, so those don't really work out for me without making me look like a little kid. I'll admit I deviated from the rules a bit on this one - this long lab coat isn't on sale right now, but the price is super low, anyway, at just $16.99.

The long lab coat I chose is by Medline and is a whopping 40-inches in length, but the back tie and tailored fit pull it all in at the waist to make it super figure-friendly. Four front buttons complete this long lab coat.

The reviews on this are fabulous - customers love this long lab coat. Marsha wrote, "I absolutely love this lab coat. I ordered 2 at first, just to see how the fit and durability would be. I also had them monogrammed which made the lab coat ‘pop' even more. I received so many compliments that I decided to buy 3 more. The fit is great and it stays "white" longer than other labcoats I have tried. You can not go wrong with this one!!! Love it! Love it! Love it!"

You can see for yourself how much customers rave about this long lab coat on the product page. It's a definite winner.

Now, back to ensuring I won't be on What Not to Wear. No, I won't participate in your market research about my personal style, thank you very much.

Hi friend I'm going shpniopg tomorrow to spend some of my Christmas money! I felt like I've had nothing to wear the past few months, so I'm finally trying to buy some clothes I really like and will wear and not get tired of. What are some good tips when buying clothes so i will not get sick of them and be sure that I really like them? Thanks for the help!
