Great for the Beach: Nursing Tote Bags

Published 24 June 10 03:46 PM
Hit the sand in style this summer.

Beach vacations highlight the memories of my youth. We'd pack up the car and drive down to Carolina Beach, NC. As I got older, I was allowed to bring a best friend, which made the trip even more fun. While I'm not a huge fan of swimming in the ocean, I like sitting or walking on the beach and taking in the sights on the boardwalks along the shore.

Our ADVANCE for Nurses Facebook page asked fans yesterday if they had a vacation planned. While some nurses were sitting out vacations this year for various reasons, others have trips planned to places like Turkey, Florida, Kenya, Spain, Hawaii, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.

If you're a nurse and have a trip that involves sand and sun planned, nursing tote bags might be just the thing to carry on the plane and tote your stuff around the beach. I went through our collection of nurse beach bags and nursing tote bags to pick out a few of my favorites. As I type this, a raging thunderstorm roars outside, putting an end (hopefully) to the five-day heat wave we've gone through here in southeastern Pennsylvania. Thoughts of the beach and cool ocean water are definitely in my brain.

Nursing Tote Bags: Sea-Nic, plus an added bonus. You can score this nursing tote bag for under $10 - it's priced at $9.99, and in addition, if you pick up the matching beach towel (with the same graphic) for $12.99, the bag is discounted to $7.99. These nursing tote bags are sturdy enough to survive many days at the beach or pool and the beach bag is a great size - not too bulky, but big enough to stow a lot of stuff.

Nursing Tote Bags: Polka dot fun. This durable nursing tote is a customer fave. Reviewers rave about receiving compliments on it, the quality of the bag and the deep red color (though it's pictured here in the second color choice, black). The "nurse" logo is embroidered on, so it'll last, and the polka dot belt adds a nice detail to this well-constructed tote bag.

Nursing Tote Bags: Classic, with a hint of turtle. This turtle nursing tote bag reminds me a lot of a big bag we used to cart around to the beach when I was younger. Mine had a certain cartoon mouse on it rather than a turtle, but the colors and cut of the bag were pretty much the same. If the other two nursing tote bags above just weren't large enough for all of you and your family's beach stuff, this one will get the job done.

About Lynn Jusinski

After an internship at a home magazine where she wrote about media rooms and $500,000 pool renovations from the comfort of a teeny, cluttered dorm room, Lynn Jusinski graduated from a small college in Pennsylvania and then moved on to write for two weekly newspapers in suburban Philadelphia. A column she penned for the papers won an award from the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association. In 2007, Lynn moved back to the magazine world, and worked full-time as an associate editor for ADVANCE for Health Information Professionals. Her work on the magazine led to “Rookie of the Year” honors and a second place feature award in the annual Editorial Excellence Awards presented by Merion Publications Inc. In her free time, Lynn is typically stuck in traffic, shopping, reading, constructing poorly made crafts and hanging out in and around her hometown.
