&lt;p&gt;I don't think you could have worded this more eloquently. I was drawn to this post in particular- not only am I an SLP but the mom of a 4 year old autistic boy. I think what you have deemed spirit I understood as an SLP throughout my career but now feel it deeply with my own child. I ache to hear and experience his spirit and recently have found it as he is saying his prayers with me. I feel fortunate we have such a wonderful team of people working with him, searching and cultivating that spirit! &lt;/p&gt;
