My Favorite Apps Right Now

Published March 13, 2013 9:03 AM by Jeremy Legaspi
Lately I have been really into using free apps in combination with paid speech apps. I have been using language apps that target syntax or morphology taking screen shots and incorporating those screen shots into other apps. Here is an example:

First I start off with an app like Tense Builder by Mobile Education Store and take a screen shot after we have finished our lessons.

Tense Builder

I then take the screen shot and upload it to the free app Pic Collage and within Pic Collage I am able to add pictures of my clients to the scene as well as any other pictures they desire with the handy web search that's built in. In the example below we added helmets and skates to make it appear that she is wearing them.

From there I have started using a new free app I just found in the app store called Talking Pictures. With talking pictures I can make my own sound board. I just draw a circle around the pictures I want to add sound to and presto chango you have your very own sound board to record any language or sound effects you want to! The possibilities are endless! The example below shows a highlight area that will be your "hot spot". So when you touch that area you will hear the recording. It's super simply to use and will certainly be fun for the children or adults you use it with.
