URGENT CALL TO ACTION!
Late last week the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography issued an urgent request asking that all SDMS members send a letter via fax to key Government Relations Committee congressional contacts in support of the CARE Bill. The CARE bill, a pending piece of legislation that the SDMS and other professional organizations have promoted, would establish credentialing and education standards for sonographers and other imaging professionals.
According to the urgent request, as a part of a ‘Medicare fix' congress is considering the inclusion of an option to the CARE Bill called the CHAMP Bill. But this option does not adequately address issues of required certification and setting of education standards for sonography providers.
The SDMS is asking that we write a letter to key Government Relations Committee congressional contacts. This is a very time-sensitive issue that is important to all sonography professionals---SDMS members as well as non-members. If you are an SDMS member who received the urgent message I encourage you to join in and take action.
