Headed in the Right Direction
I feel like I just got out of school and now it’s time to start studying for another registry. As if the first one wasn’t anxiety-provoking enough, here I go again. I love school but hate taking the so-called standardized test.
I received a letter from the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) stating I’m eligible to take the CT registry in a few months. I guess I’ll have to stop putting off the inevitable and just bite the bullet and order the study materials. It will end up being a win-win situation because I am in need of formal CT training. I want to know “why” instead of just “how” when it comes to my job.
I was reading an article in a radiology magazine this week that had some interesting information on the future of CT. It stated that due to the increased use of CT, some educators believe that future radiography programs will primarily teach CT, with radiographic positioning as a secondary. This is exciting news for future students and the longevity of my profession.
