Juney’s World: Days in the Life of a CT Technologist

Olympic View

Wherever athletes go radiology is sure to follow. Whether it’s an x-ray, CT scan, or MRI, practitioners rely on this technology for diagnosis and treatment.

Men’s cycling at the 2012 Olympics saw an injury to one of the Swiss cyclers. Fabian Cancellara “hit the deck with about 15 km to go in the race, leaving him with a bloodied arm and ruining his chances of claiming a medal.” He was leading a group of 32 cyclists when he missed a turn and crashed.

To determine the extent of his injury he had an x-ray. Thankfully his right hand was not broken, only badly bruised. He is waiting to see how he feels before deciding whether or not to compete in upcoming events.

It is great to see radiologic technology playing a vital role in helping the Olympic athletes reach for the gold.

ME LOOKS VERY GOOD COMMENT.

SPORTS ACTIVITIES IN ALL MEDICAL IMAGES ARE OF GREAT IMPORTANCE TO PERFORM THE MONITORING OF INJURIES OF HIGH COMPETITION athletes.
