    Are there contraindications to using ultrasound on a 17 y.o. male's elbow as I have read that the growth plate in the elbow closes between 14-16 y.o.?

    I would call the physician to look at the xrays to see if the plates have closed.  don't take a chance...

    i dont think so u can use ultrasound.
