Finding CEU about early intervention/premature babies

I am an OTR who is currently a SAHM. I recently found out that I am pregnant with monoamniotic twins. IThe doctor told me that best case scenario I will have a c-section at 34 wk GA. I haven't ever worked in pediatrics or early intervention and would like to find some informative CEU courses/companies that will help prepare me to help my babies with any issues dealing with prematurity....

     Thanks for your help

Re: Finding CEU about early intervention/premature babies

    Hi,

I'm also a stay at home mom (only work <10hrs week) with twin fraternal boys boys born at 28 weeks. They will now be two (chronologically)

in May. I also do not have any OT experience in peds, but I've learned so much from being in the NICU for 3 mo. & then attending limited therapy from early steps home program & then outpt. therapy. I'm fortunate that my kids have not had major developmental issues. Actually, one of them is ahead developmentally & then other is about 3 mo. behind , but mainly b/c of silent ear infections, tubes, etc.

I've found that having a few developmental charts on hand has helped alot. The Denver Developmental Screen & the Bailey Scales of Infant Devt. I've used some of these as devt. guides and tried to work on tasks accordingly.

You can e-mail at allay@bellsouth.net if you want to discuss this further since I can go on all day about preemies, etc.

    Hope all is well.
