I've been watching the Showtime miniseries "The Tudors" (on DVD), and was curious what "the sweating sickness" is. In the show, it seems to be a fast-developing fever with hallucinations and a high death rate. My impression is that it's similar to the plague.
Any medical history buffs out there?
