    Credentials for LPNs

I have a few questions about specialty certification. Does it really help LPNs improve their status among patients and colleagues. Does it help improve LPN marketability? Are there a lot of LPNs out there seeking speciality credentials?

    LPN certification

I have worked in the ICF-MR field for more than 15 years, and i have had my LPN for nearly 20. I am now seeking certification by the Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association. I love the field, and a specialized certification surely can't hurt!

    Hi,

I didn't think LPN's could be Legal Nurse Consultants.  How did you go about doing this.  I have a B.A. degree and about 13 years ago I went back to school to get my LPN.

I thought you had to be an RN to be a Legal Nurse Consultant.

I would appreciate any information you could give me on this.

    Thanks!

    RE:LPN certification

I made it! I am now certified in field of developmental disabilities. (not that anyone truly cares, lol, but it is something I am exceedingly proud of).

    Hi,

Congratulations!  What kind of a test did you have to pass & who gives the test?

I would like information in becoming a Legal Nurse Consultant. I am an LPN for over 15 years with excellent background in ICU and HIV.This is a field that I would be very interested in.

All of the programs for LNC that I know of are NOT open to the LPN.  I, too, would like to know how the other poster was able to get that certification.

    Re: continuing education

Hi,  I am new to this site, but found this article interesting.  I know it is dated, but if you get a chance to see this and reply, I would greatly appreciate it.

I was under the impression that you had to be an RN to attain the Legal Nurse Consultant status.

If this is not the case, could you please let me know how to get the training needed to do this?

any info you could provided would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!  Bev
