Does anyone check salary ranges for different states?  I know about the AHIMA survey and Advance survey, but are they accurate?  Is there any way to find out what different hospitals in an area have for a range of pay for coders?  I just have no clue, having worked for two years, starting low, but now with a CCS, what to ask for in pay without knowing what the range may be, if I move to another state.  Has anyone ever paid for this information on one of those salary websites?   Calling hospitals does not work because no one ever answers the phone anymore and they definitely don't return calls if you are just looking for info.  Email doesn't work most of the time either.
