help a student taking a decision regarding clinical rotation

    Hello

I am a MT student in my year before the clinical rotation. i am in new Jersey and my school is afiliated with 3 hospitals where i could do my clinical rotation. The hospitals( in case you are from Nj) are Morristown memorial hospital, jersey Shore university medical center and valley hospital. If you are not from Nj I can still get a lot from your advice by telling me what should i look for before deciding to go to a specific hospital for the program. What is very important for a hospital program to have and also what can a clinical rotation give me in order to be more uited for a entry level position? What should i look for when decinding where to go for the rotations?

    Thanks

    Andreea

    Andreea,

Go to the LARGEST institution possible.  They will have the broadest base of instrumentation, methodologies, and knowledge.  With what you learn at a LARGE institution, you will have a selection of work environments: POL, Clinic, small hospital, larger medical center, instrumentation industry, research, technical support, LIS IT support....the options are many....not like the deadend profession that so many techs bemoan.
