Help! Career decision: Medical Coding or Transcription??

Hi, I'm in the process of changing careers, and would like to switch to health care. I have a bachelor's degree in graphic design, and am contemplating either medical coding or medical transcription, and would like to channel my efforts into the program which is more marketable and has more job opportunities upon completion. Any advice?

After months of research I have found that coding provides more job opportunites at a higher rate of pay.  I would invest your money in a masters in HIM. You can come out and sit for the RHIA and start making over 50 K!  You can not make that money doing transcription!!!  You can also do a post bac or graduate certificate, but they cost the same amount and take the same amount of time as a masters in HIM.

I am starting this spring at St.Scholastica, online too!!

Good luck in your research and decesion!
