I am planning to shift gear and try travelling PT this spring. I am targeting MD, WI, NJ and WA and TX. Any info will be very helpful.

Texas is in high demand of PT's.

The pay is also good in TX, except for security.

    Raja,

I just read your post that you are looking for job in home health in Michigan and sent you a reply. I am confused. It seems like you are a travelling therapist and I thought travelling therapist make more. I am hoping to become a travelling therapist to see the country and earn more. Is it true that travelling therapists earn more or not?

Yes, we do...  But, there are so many considerations (different taxes, federal tax home, housing stipends paid hourly, daily, weekly monthly all with different calculation methods by different companies...) that it can become confusing.  While your hourly wage will be in the ballpark of a salaried position in that location, you have to add in your non-taxed per diem and housing stipend/free housing to get your "total compensation".  When you examine all of that, no matter how you calculate things, it is indeed more than a perm position.

If you are looking for a website that is specific to traveling therapists, please direct message me and I can forward you such a site.

Hi Jason. I think I know where you are going to direct me. It is medtravellersclub. I am working on my licenses in other states and I am inspired to become a travelling therapist. I was just alarmed with Raja's question looking for a permanent job. I thought maybe travelling PT is not as good as permanent.
