    Urinalysis-What is considered contamination?

I am interested to know how many labs are skipping the microscopics in urine and reflexing to culture purely based on dipstick alone.  I know there are automated methods but that is not an option for our lab at this time.

Do other labs consider the number of epithelials per hpf in microscopics?  Do you consider the urine contaminated if there are too many epithelials, and how many is too many?
