Hello Lisa,
Last July I transfered schools because of too much going on with my family, etc. I was going to a local college, and found that it was just too stressful traveling 30 minutes each way ,and going to classes 3-5 days a week along with working full time 4 days a week. I was recommended to use the College Network, and then apply to Excelsior College after I bought all of my books. (which I did last summer). Only after I paid my fees and purchased my books I found out that I did not need to apply at the college network at all. I only needed to apply at Excelsior college, and transfer my credits from my previous college . Unfortunately, I wasted about $3,000 by signing on for books at college network (that are worthless to me because you then have to purchase books from excelsior )(because they do not give enough information in their study books to pass Excelsior's exams), so if you plan on applying to Excellsior College do not bother to sign up with the college network , because they are NOT a school, they only sell books geared towards online study programs. I passed my first exam that was required in december which is Information Literacy .I got a 100, but it was very hard. Much harder than going to classes at a school with a professor. I also applied for 2 other courses which I have to finish by december 30th. I only have A&P, andall of the nursing courses ,and a 3 day clinical left to get my degree .Not bad, huh? The only problem is disciplining yourself. I had lots going on last year and this year to hold me back. Now I need to get moving and finish my exams. Good luck and I hope that I was helpful to you.
