I still get the new name mixed up. I don't remember 'workcards' but I can tell you we still use the 'inactivity log' to track down cultures that have received no entry in the computer. This is pulled up daily at the end of the day. In the old, old, days when we were organized by specimen type we would pull up worksheets but now our volume is up and that isn't effective any longer but at the same time, I don't remember how effective it was to begin with. However, if your volume is low, pulling daily worksheets for "NEW" cultures would help you catch the things you have not received. I don't know what a 'mst' log is. What is it?

I've worked with the sunquest system for 10yrs now and still am amazed at the number of things I don't know yet. I hope this was helpful.

Does anyone use Sunquest LIS for their Microbiology reporting?

Our lab is trying to streamline our workflow, we would like some ideas form other Sunquest users how to best use our system. We currently print and keep the workcards until the culture is complete (basically for the labels). If you discard the workcards after planting, how to you keep track of your cultures---worksheets? What method do you use to make sure you have received all of your specimens (especially like the shared urines)..do you use the pending log? We use a modified "mst" log and wondered if anyone had some suggestions for things they have found that helps their work flow smoothly.
