Hospitals have been doing business the exact same way for years and the cracks are showing. Several systems have declared bankruptcy and the number is going to keep growing unless NYC facilities update their business practices. They should start by diversifying their outsourcing models and open the field up to more talent, instead of catering to the bottom line. Departments are running with skeleton crews, working techs into the ground. Meanwhile, top level execs are fattening their wallets at the expense of quality health care. There is an eerie similarity between the banking industry and the health care industry. The careless actions of those at the top are hurting the general public. </p>
