There are moderately complex and highly complex tests that require a Medical Technologist. These are usually in Blood Bank or Microbiology, two areas that require further training and experience. Unfortunately, the waived testing represents a "Lab for Dummies" attitude that is becoming more and more prevelant in the profession.
