I am concerned with X-ray Technogists injecting Sestamibi (miraluma) for the the purpose of breast imaging. They are using a Breast Specific Gamma camera. I know is takes alot of practice to learn appropiate positioning, but I think this is a Nuclear Med Tech job. I have been after our radiologist to use Miraluma, but they seem to think it would be useless because a biopsy would be needed or already done. This would just show them something they already know.
That Beast Specific Gamma camera looks very interesting. In the Advance Extra it says you need to use 25-30 mCi of Sestamibi (miraluma), can a x-ray tech inject this without a license or does the Radiologist?
