any one work with hypoxic altitude simulation testing?

I want to initiate out-patient Hypoxic Altitude Simulation Testing at the pulmonary office associated with the hospital that I work with. I need to get in touch with a company/vendor who makes the equipment to do the testing, so that I can start the purchasing process. Does anyone work with this testing/ have the equipment/ or know of a vendor that I can reach to ask these questions?

    Thanks

    Kristin

Re: any one work with hypoxic altitude simulation testing?

I work at St Vincent Hospital in Leadville, CO (10,200 feet above sea level).  We have many of the Uranium Miners come to us to have Arterial Blood Gases, PFTs, and x--rays.  Our policy is the patient must be at Altitude at least 8 hours prior to any ABGs.  The ABG is only affected by the PO2 which is 60 to 80 instead of 80 to 100 mmHg.

We don't have a pulmonologist in our hospital and our in-town family doctors don't write for these prescriptions.  We get the prescriptions from the patient's own doctor.  This has been going on for over 3 years at least.

Email me at amartinson@svghd.org if you have any other quesitons.  Hopes it helps.
