    Treatment Plan

Currently an order is received from the doctor for " evaluate and treat". Does the therapist need to telephone the doctor following the evaluation to obtain verbal orders to clarify the treatment plan that same day or can they just fax an order to him to sign to clarify orders since they have the initial evaluate and treat orders?

    Re: Treatment Plan

At the very least the doctor should specify the body region/impairment he wishes addressed (i.e. neck pain, ankle sprain, balance disorder, difficulty ambulating, etc.).  All you need for treatment is the doctor's signature on your evaluation and treatment plan with appropriate interventions that you have deemed necessary selected.  If you feel there are extenuating circumstances than you may want to call him directly to clarify them.
