    Lab Value

Why is laboratory medicine so important to patient care?

    Re: Lab Value

Basicly, according to Fisher HealthCare, "Diagnostics, and you, the professionals who deliver them, comprise less than 5% of hospital costs and only 1.6% of all Medicare costs, yet your findings influence over 70% of all healthcare decision-making."

    Sincerely,

     Joe

    Hi There Kerrie,

Without laboratory medicine medical error would occur more often because doctors wouldn't be able to formulate an accurate diagnosis because they wouldn't have access to a patient's system values. Medical Laboratory Technology provides the basis for quality medical care.
