Pt had stroke in 1960 and received no speech services

I am seeing a woman in her early 70's who had a stroke in 1960 - raised 4 children while in a wheelchair - quite independent - husband recently broke his leg and now children are asking for home health to offer any service possible for his wife....speech is very difficult to understand, drools, poor lip seal when swallowing, weak oral motor skills - one side of mouth is paralyzed - I have recommended a MBS to see about swallowing ability - she has residue on tongue, etc - gulps water and loses it out of the side of her mouth.  However, this lady is bright and very interested in attempting to better her articulation and swallowing ability....is it too late?  I really need some advice
