    ADL Levels?

I find it interesting that in the eldercare arena the topic of ADL level is so important in determining level of care ( ie: SNF, ALF , as well as. long-term care insurance coverage) , yet I rarely see referrals for OT's to assess  ADL levels specifically.  I would think that based upon our definition, scope of practice ,licensure & expertise that we would be in high demand to seniorcare communities & insurance providors.   It appears as though our national & state associations are missing an opportunity to promote our field & the service that we can offer the community at large in this particular area.  Just wondering how we can impact some change?
