    UV Lighting in the OR

Is anyone aware of any recent studies on the effects of UV lighting on employees in the OR?  I recently started a new job where UV lighting is used in the Ortho suite. Not liking it at all.

    Hi Debbie Anderson,

Yes, I heard about UV lighting on employees in the OR. When appropriate safety precautions are taken, ultraviolet lighting appears to be an effective way to lower the risk of infection in the operating room during total joint replacement surgery.

    Thanks

UV is short wavelength electromagnetic radiation...
The shorter the wavelength the more energy every photon has...
The more energetic the greater the possibility that exposure will cause sunburn or cancer...
The energy of green and even blue is not as much as UV radiation...
Many light sources emit red radiation...

UV light transmitted the light on ultraviolet radiation and it gives too much light to lighten the place.
