I have been working in a Genesis facility where they expect 90% productivity. I do 2-3 evals every day! I have been told by the rehab director that if it takes 2 hours to review a chart, do the eval, type the eval into the computer etc. then 1 hour of the 2 should be billed as treatment time. I have been told that I should take the computer to the patient and do all progress notes, recerts, daily notes, charges and discharges with the patient present so that every minute of that time can be billled as treatment time. Are others getting this same pressure? Is this legal? I look around the therapy gym and see patients sleeping and getting billed for treatment time! Just what is billable time now?
