Hi All ,
I am a student physical therapist and am currently treating an elderly patient with a Colles Fracture and I have a question related to her current presentation. The patient is s/p 6 weeks Colles fracture that was treated conservatively and cast was removed 4 weeks back. She complains of pain over ulnar styloid process with active pronation/supination, resisted wrist extension and with passive radial deviation. She also has pain with gripping activities.
My concern here is why does the patient complain of ulnar pain when the fracture was of the distal radius? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time,
Pankti, SPT.
