    Coding

Hello. I am just beginning my 3rd semester of medical coding and I was wondering how everyone likes this profession and what is the most rewarding part of your career?

    Kari,

In my sixteen years of experience in coding, the most rewarding part of my career is how my knowledge and attention to detail accurately captures charges, resulting in fewer returned, unpaid claims. Additional revenue aids the purchase of new equipment and funds new ventures with physician specialty clinics, bringing specialists to my geographical area that provide an increased range of patient care and services. Indirectly, coders help patients by capturing the revenue for equipment and a wider arrangement of specialists to improve patient care and the patient experience in a healthcare organization.
