    I would say hospital is a great place to begin your coding career. However, some hospitals require to have little background in HIM field, while others would take you as a fresh graduate. Depending on the size, type, or the need, theyll offer you an entry to mid-level job in HIM dept.

    Of course, if you graduate with an&nbsp;AAS in HIT, then you would sit for an RHIT certification. I think other AHIMA certifications require to have either an experience or the qualification.

I think AHIMA recommends at least three years of&nbsp;in-patient coding experince in order to&nbsp;sit for the CCS exam. The more qualification you have in this profession, the higher your income.
