    Texas already requires. I believe this is a federal mandate. The students have to do this and a declaratory order of any previous offenses now before starting a nursing program.

    There are Nurse Refresher Programs out there that you can do and some allow nurses to customize the curriculum after getting the basics done as well as customize clinicals.     Employers are doing this and you are right as far as the reasons.&nbsp;I think it is over the top but, it is what it is. At any rate, inquires like this are called soft inquires and do&nbsp;not affect your credit rating like&nbsp;an inquiry from a bank or&nbsp;loan company does. &nbsp;

    Not sure what state you are in Gail but, you should try the Workforce or Worksource they call it in some states as well as DARS the Dept. of Asssitive and Rehab Services in your area. They should be able to assist you in finding some light duty jobs. Also, you ay qualify for asssitance to go back to get yoru RN. Then you could do case management, ...

    Some state boards don't give the info out. THey consider it advertising. You can also try your professional organizations or nursing departments of your local universities.
