Tim, do you have any links to these changes that have been made. I'm working in peds right now, so I haven't heard about this but I would like to stay updated in LTC. I'm really interested in the change mandating solely one-on-one treatment. Obviously there is abuse in the system, but it's irritating that they can't just address ...

Kelly, that is one of the best ideas I've ever heard. All facilities should adopt this procedure. Is your company liable for any incidents that happen while the pt in in the family's care? I know facilities now have to assume the cost of all preventable injuries the pt has while in a facility, so I was just curious how it would ...

By the way, Betsy McCaughey has been working for some time in a position that would benefit greatly from leaving the health care in this country as is. She only resigned from her position in Aug of 09 to "to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest during the national debate over healthcare reform." (in her own words). ...

Tim, I usually enjoy your posts, and the discussions that ensue. I would appreciate it if you would stop interjecting your own political views via your professional blog. We can debate the issues of health care minus the many myths you insist on expounding upon from god knows what resource. Did you even read the most recent ...

I was wondering if there are any University of Findlay grads reading this, and if any of you completed the weekend college MOT. I have a few questions about the prereqs if any are out there.

I would also like to ask Nan, if she thinks she could assume her caseload independently if she didn't work with any COTAs. You would like to be so quick to dismiss, but I will you one thing. That pretty little pay check you get every week would be cut in half if it weren't for COTAs. Also, the OT profession wouldn't be half as ...

John, have you been reading the comments posted on these threads? If you have, you would see most of your "concerns" have been addressed at some point, aside from the cost, which I believe you have exaggerated (as the laws would not need to be debated or changed just reprinted). You obviously have never worked as a COTA. ...

Welcome to the discussion!! OTRs with your perspective seem to be far and few between. This debate is a little more current on the COTA thoughts- What's in a name on the Advance E-Newsletters. It's also getting pretty heated, just to warn you. We have been debating on possibly starting a petition with AOTA, but who knows. I ...
