Can anybody provide some input on ideas for neuro re-ed techniques for a flaccid UE.  very little movement available, but pt was fully functioning before.  I'm weak in neuro so any ideas would be great or any resources on videos to watch, etc.   thanks lindsey

I think it's a good idea to give your student assignments, it's all part of the fieldwork process.  But in my experience as an OTR I would say that doing some assignments but then focusing on the clinical aspect of things more is the most beneficial.  I was great at doing ''projects'' in school and did very well in the academic portion ...

I am an OTR, about 2-3 years out of school.  I recently started home care and I have a pt. that is s/p cervical decompression and fusion (c3-c7).  He has trace shoulder flexion/abd, trace to no elbow flexion, difficulty with eccentric motions (ie elbow extension).  Obviously there is neurological involvement after this ...
