Not my program, but I took responsiblity to make sure I was prepared. I feel our training teaches us how to learn, provides the resources, but the rest is up to us.

Have your student shadow you to start and hopefully he/she will be a sponge and learn from you before you let them on their own to do hands on.
Don't assume they know what you think they should know, go over all the basics.

Contact your local hospital OT department and see if you can participate in their CME/Inservice programs. Most drug companies sponser CME programs, so contact them also.

I have several businesses each an LLC and it's the only way to go for total protection.
In my area the normal costs of setting up an LLC with an attorney is $1440.
You may go on line and do it yourself without the assitance of a professional.

I worked 35 years ago with children in a well known cancer hospital.
In those days we used arts & craft for diversionary activities.
Boy, did those kids love seeing the OT strolling down the hall with their fun carts.
Today, as a seasoned OT, I'd have different goals. but still would want the children to have fun and be glad to seem me.

Why not wrap your elbows into extension with an ace wrap and try dressing yourself ??

Jennifer what is the size and breed of the dog? I am wondering if the dog is so large & strong it might pull her while walking it? Small dogs can walk up a ramp to the kitchen counter or special table to eat and be watered. Bigger dogs can drink and eat from built up platforms. Animals can also be hand fed.
